A restaurant in California bans adolescents without parents from entering: they make noise and litter
California Burger Joint bans customers under 18 from dining without parents, alleging that young people threw potatoes at staff and hung candy from the ceiling. Business Insider.
The California burger establishment does not allow anyone under 18 years of age to be accompanied by a parent or guardian due to inappropriate behavior by young people.
Garden Valley-based Red Rooster Burgers & Brew announced its decision in a Facebook post on October 8, stating that it had endured this behavior for two years.
The company called these young customers "kids" and said it has repeatedly expressed its concerns.
The message said that without introducing a new rule that would allow customers to continue to enjoy dining out and hanging out with friends, some youth's inappropriate behavior would continue.
The report added that the owners were not seeking to "drive out the youth of our community" - they simply wanted to protect their property.
The restaurant's report listed several incidents, including: throwing fries at employees, leaving a condom in the closet, sticking candy to the ceiling, and sprinkling condiments around the room.

The company also accused young customers of sitting on changing tables in the toilet and “kissing”.
“Some of their actions are illegal and we will not tolerate it,” the restaurant said in a Facebook post.
Other reasons cited by the restaurant were "smoking marijuana in the toilet" and customers stealing soda from the refrigerator.
The streets surrounding the property were also defaced, the restaurant said. “Recently, a neighbor’s Halloween decoration was vandalized in our parking lot. We found parts of it,” the message says.
The restaurant did not immediately respond to an insider's request for comment.
