This aircraft is designed to evacuate the country's top military leadership, as well as to control the Russian Armed Forces in a full-scale military conflict, including a nuclear war.

The Russian Ministry of Defense previously reported that a total of 77 aircraft and helicopters will participate in the aviation part of the military parade - according to the number of years since the end of the Second World War. Eight MiG-29SMT fighters will fly over Red Square in the form of the letter Z, the symbol of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

At the end of April, it became known that leaders of foreign states would not come to the Victory Parade this year. The Kremlin did not invite anyone, as "it is not a jubilee year," said Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov. According to him, participation is not planned for the de facto Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko either. At the same time, almost every year before the Russian Federation, other leaders of countries were called.

“An attempt to appease the aggressor on the eve of World War II turned out to be a mistake that cost our people dearly,” Putin said February 24, announcing the so-called special military operation in Ukraine. “The second time we will not make such a mistake, we have no right.”

Putin describes the war in Ukraine as a battle to protect the Russian-speaking population from Nazi persecution and to defend against what he calls the US threat to Russia due to NATO expansion. Ukraine and the West dismiss statements about Nazism as nonsense and say that Putin is waging an unprovoked war of aggression.

On the eve of May 9, there were rumors in Moscow and Western capitals that Putin was preparing some kind of special statement regarding Ukraine, perhaps a direct declaration of war or even national mobilization.
