Putin released foreigners captured in the war in Ukraine and prisoners from Azovstal

Captured foreigners sent to Saudi Arabia

Russia handed over 10 foreigners captured in Ukraine to Saudi Arabia. It is known that the Russians handed over five Britons, one Moroccan, one Swede, one Croat and two Americans to Riyadh, but the names of these people have not yet been released. The plane with them has already landed in Saudi Arabia, the agency reports. Al-Arabiya.

According to reports, the Kremlin has apparently released Swedish citizen Matthias Gustavsson, Croatian citizen Vekoslav Prebig, British citizens John Harding, Andrew Hill, Dylan Healy, Sean Pinner and Aiden Aslin, and US citizens Alexander Druke and Andy Hun.

Some of them were "sentenced" to death in the so-called Donetsk People's Republic. They were going to be executed because they allegedly participated in the war on the side of Ukraine.

The Kremlin has not yet commented on this information; it is not clear what Russia received in return.

Liberation of Ukrainians

Ukraine returned the defenders of Mariupol from Russian captivity, in particular the Azov military, who became a legend during the defense of the Azovstal plant. This was reported by the former commander of the Azov regiment. Maxim Jorin in your Telegram channel.

“There was an exchange of prisoners, some of the Azov residents are at home. Finally, we were able to return some more of the defenders of Mariupol, including the fighters of the Azov regiment. “Tonight the exchange that we have been waiting for for so long took place,” Zhorin wrote.

Among the Ukrainians released from captivity are the commander of the Azov regiment Denis “Redis” Prokopenko, his deputy Svyatoslav “Kalina” Palamar, the commander of the 36th Marine Brigade Sergei Volyn, as well as the head of the Mariupol patrol police Mikhail Vershinin, paramedic Ekaterina Polishchuk with the call sign “Ptashka” "and senior sergeant of the 36th brigade Mikhail Dianov. In total, Ukraine returned 215 people, of which 108 were Azov fighters.

According to the DPR militants, during the exchange, “military personnel who were captured as a result of the retreat in the Kharkov direction, as well as captured military pilots of the Russian Armed Forces” were handed over to the Russian side. In addition, Viktor Medvedchuk, a Ukrainian politician with pro-Russian sentiments, was sent to Russia. Let us remind you: he is Putin’s godfather.
