A potentially dangerous hurricane is approaching the USA: what to expect
Just days after Storm Henry swept through the northeastern United States, another more dangerous threat looms. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) oversees the Tropical Depression 9, which could hit the Gulf Coast as a massive hurricane in just a few days. It will be named Ida. The edition told in more detail CBS New York.
The Depression is located south of Jamaica. All models are almost unanimous that by the end of the week she will come to the northwest.
Many computer models predict rapid gain. Due to the active traffic, it will be possible to land on the evening on Sunday, August 29, or Monday, August 30.
With no storms in the Gulf of Mexico recently, sea surface temperatures are very warm, ranging from 86 degrees (30 C) in deeper water to 90 degrees (32 C) off the Louisiana coast. Combine that with the fast approaching peak hurricane season and there are good reasons for concern.

However, there is general agreement that this depression is likely to head towards the coast of Louisiana or Texas. When exactly it arrives, it will depend on where it reaches the coast: the further west, the longer it will take. This leaves almost no time for preparation.
Recent research on both models suggests a violent hurricane will hit somewhere along the Louisiana coast. But some other models predict landfalls further west along the Texas coast.
Several models show a landfall centered in western Louisiana. If that does happen, it will be unfortunate, as both Hurricane Laura and Hurricane Delta hit the area during last year's record hurricane season.
