Los Angeles police shot dead Russian man who killed his wife and kidnapped his son
Los Angeles police shot dead 48-year-old Russian citizen Konstantin Morozov.
Prior to that, he was wanted for suspicion of murdering his wife and abducting their 9-year-old son, writes LA Times.
According to law enforcement, 21 August Morozov arrived at his wife's house in California, killed her, took away their son, Daniel, and fled. After that, the police declared him wanted.
22 August Morozov was spotted at the house of his friends in Encino.

Law enforcement officers, after identifying Morozov, opened fire on him. The police did not explain why the officers started shooting, but a Morozov pistol was later found at the scene of the incident. As a result of the shootout, the man was seriously wounded, from whom he later died in hospital.
The child who was in the house during the shootout was not injured and is now safe.
LAPD investigators are interviewing officers and witnesses to the shooting, a standard procedure after a suspect is killed.
The Russian Consulate General in San Francisco reported that Konstantin Morozov and his wife were Russian citizens, writes TASS. 9-year-old son Daniel Moroz is also a citizen of Russia. According to them, the boy is in the care of social services, the consulate general is in contact with them about the child.
