42 percent of Russian top managers are going to emigrate

Almost every sixth Russian top manager plans to move to another country in the next two years, found out in the Agency Kontakt. Even more top managers - 42% - are in principle going to emigrate.

16% of Russian top managers plan to move to another country in the next two years, the agency Kontakt headhunting company found out. In May 2016, she interviewed 467 top managers of Russian and international companies. Expats were not included in the sample.

“The desire of top managers to move abroad can really become the trend of the next few years,” said Anastasia Staseva, business director of Agency Kontakt. On the one hand, people who want to build their business, especially in high-tech and innovative industries, say that abroad you can avoid a large number of obstacles with which development of your own business in our country is connected and because of which “we we hear about the lack of support of private business by the authorities. ”

In addition, in the US and Europe it is easier to find investors acting according to the principle “I will invest in order not to miss something worthwhile,” while in Russia the approach “I’m not investing is more common, it doesn’t shoot out,” the expert says.

Another crucial factor is quality of life. At the same time, top managers just have the competencies necessary to decide on a move and to arrange the appropriate conditions - to find a job, to start their own business, explains Stasev.

“To move to another country in principle,” according to the survey, 42% of respondents are planning. Nearly half of them - 48% - in the case of relocation, assume to work for another company, 31% - open their business, another 20% believe that they can also live on the proceeds from renting out real estate in Russia (responding to this question, you could choose several answers). The three most popular countries for possible relocation are the United States (22% mentioned), Germany (17%) and the United Kingdom (11%).

At the same time, the number of foreign specialists in Russia began to decline from the 2014 year. According to the information and analytical bulletin "2014 – 2015 years: the economic crisis - the social dimension", the number of issued work permits for highly qualified specialists from all EU countries for 10 months 2015 of the year decreased by 2013% (from Germany - by 57%, from the UK - by 58%), and from the USA - by 68%.
