Nearly 20 immigrants will soon become US citizens with 000 naturalization ceremonies across the country

This year, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will celebrate Constitution Day and Citizenship Day (September 17) by welcoming over 19 new citizens to over 000 naturalization ceremonies across the country. The festive celebrations will take place from 235 to 16 September. This was stated in a press release from the department.

“Since the administration of US President Joe Biden took office, USCIS has worked tirelessly to raise awareness of citizenship,” said USCIS Director Ur Jaddu. "The celebration of Constitution Day and Citizenship Day provides a great opportunity to highlight our agency's efforts, as well as bring more US citizens into our American family."

On September 17, the United States celebrates Constitution Day and Citizenship Day as part of Constitution Week (September 17-23).

The celebration commemorates the adoption of the US Constitution on September 17, 1787, as well as Citizenship Day.

Citizenship Day has been celebrated since 1940, originally called I Am an American Day. In 1952, President Harry Truman made it Citizenship Day, and already in 1955, President Dwight Eisenhower proclaimed the first Constitution Week.

Every year around this time, USCIS holds special holiday naturalization ceremonies around the country.

New citizens share their photos on social media using the hashtags #NewUSCitizen, #ConstitutionWeek and #CitizenshipDay.

The festive naturalization ceremonies this year will take place:

• 16 September: Tumakakori National Historical Park in Arizona, World Food and Music Festival in Des Moines (Iowa).
• 19 September: Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas.
• 20 September: US Chamber of Commerce Foundation in Washington, DC.
• 22 September: Homestead National Park in Beatrice (Nebraska).
• 23 September: Mount Vernon George Washington in Virginia.

On September 17, Director Jaddu will attend a special ceremony on Ellis Island, and Department of Homeland Security chief Alejandro Mallorcas will attend a ceremony in Los Angeles aboard the USS Iowa.
