Why do leaves change color?

The hurricane tore off all the brown leaves that were on the trees, and the green leaves were simply dried by a strong wind. Now plants shed dead leaves. This also applies to evergreens.

Worst cypress, red jasmine and bauhinia are worse off. It will take them a long time to shed the dead foliage and recover. To understand whether the plants survived, it will be possible only after some time.

What happens next with the plants?

If the deciduous trees in your garden did not start to appear new leaves, then check whether the trees are alive. To do this, bend the ends of the branches. If they are flexible and bend well, then the tree is alive. If the red jasmine eyelids are green, then everything is fine with the plant; if you notice blackening, cut off this dead part.

Most likely, the deadly hurricane will be for perennial curb flowers such as pentas, pansies, daisies, and so on. More chances to survive at the philodendron, although the plants of this type also need a lot of time to recover.

On the other hand, the moisture that the hurricane brought with it will be enough for the plants to be able to start the mechanisms that restore vitality.
