Specialists of the British edition of the portal ScrapCarComparcion have compiled a list of countries where the cost of owning a personal car is the most and least costly. The edition told in more detail TSN.
It is noted that the results are presented as a share of the average annual earnings required to keep the car. For the calculations, we took the two most popular models - Volkswagen Golf and Toyota Corolla.
Thus, it is cheaper to maintain a personal car in Australia. According to researchers, in order to have a personal car there, you will have to spend a little less than half of the average annual salary in the country.

The United States came in second place with a score of 55%, and Denmark came in third (60,3%). Also in the top 10 countries with the cheapest maintenance of a personal car are Canada, Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Great Britain and Finland.
Among the countries where a personal car is more expensive, Turkey became the leader with an indicator of 652,3%. It turns out that more than six average annual salaries will have to be spent on car maintenance in Turkey. Argentina is in second place with 515,7%, while Colombia is in third place (509%).

It is worth noting that in the United States, the public transport system is almost undeveloped, so every American needs a personal car, this may be a factor in why the States were so high in this rating. At the same time, in Russia and Ukraine, which were in the last places, public transport runs both locally and throughout the country, so you can get to your destination without a car.
