Kremlin activist who kissed Putin received a US green card

Kremlin activist Maria Drokova, who came to prominence after the release of the documentary The Kiss of Putin, received a green card and called the United States her "home." This caused outrage among users of the social network, because of which the post was soon removed.

Maria previously spoke in support of the United Russia party and Vladimir Putin. In addition, the girl gained fame for a kiss with Vladimir Putin, but in the end, after beating journalist Oleg Kashin, she withdrew from pro-government views and went into business.

After leaving Nashi in 2011, Maria was the host and producer of the Internet channel. Russia.Ru, became a co-founder of the Legend media agency, then worked as a PR manager Runa Capital and vice president of company communications Acronis. “I am so glad and grateful,” wrote Drokova, “to get a green card and get closer to citizenship in my home country of the USA.”

After the post was published, users reacted ambiguously to the words about the US home country.

Some recalled her past. The photo shows one of the activist’s actions, where she emotionally tells something in one boot, in front of a poster with US President George W. Bush.

Oppositionist Ilya Yashin also spoke negatively about Maria’s green card.

As commentators note, Drokova received an E16 type green card, that is, as a “foreigner with extraordinary abilities.” Typically, such a basis for issuing a residence permit is used for outstanding athletes, musicians, artists and writers.

In a remote Facebook message, Maria thanked the lawyer who worked on her documents to get the green card.
