The beaches of New York opened after the threat of a tropical storm Hermin
The beaches of New York opened to visitors after they were closed due to the approach tropical storm Hermin. In addition, the authorities extended the swimming season in state parks to September 18.
Among these parks are: Allegany State Park, Beaver island, Green Lakes State Park, Delta lake state park, Southwick beach.
On Long Island, the season is extended to Hither Hills, Jones Beach State Park, West Bathhouse Ocean Beach, Robert Moses State Park and Sunken Meadow State Park.
In July and August, the operating hours of the parks were twice extended due to the heat.
Earlier, New York Mayor Bill de Blasio, as reported by ForumDaily, recommended residents and tourists to refrain from swimming on the beaches of the city.
