Delta pilot arrested before takeoff: suspect he was drunk
A Delta pilot was arrested on July 30 at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport on suspicion that he intended to fly a plane while intoxicated.
37-year-old Gabriel Lyle Schroeder from Rosemount, Minnesota, was arrested around 11: 00 local time after the airport police conducted an investigation into his condition, reports CNN.
Airport staff noticed that Schroeder had quit the security check for crew members when he saw that, in addition to the usual security screening, there was an additional check.
Later, Schroeder again stood in line for inspection, but his short-term departure aroused suspicion. As a result, he passed the test and boarded the plane.

Official charges against Schroeder have not yet been made, investigators are awaiting the results of a toxicological test, which can take up to a week. The pilot was released several hours after the arrest, pending further proceedings. He declined to comment on what happened.
Delta spokeswoman Kate Modolo noted that the airline is working with local law enforcement.
“Delta's alcohol policy is one of the strictest in the industry, and we do not tolerate violations of it. Delta is cooperating with local authorities in their investigation,” the statement said.
