The first dog of the country: a new pet has appeared in the White House
On December 20, a new puppy, a purebred German shepherd, was spotted on the south lawn of the White House. CNN.
Michael LaRosa, spokesman for Jill Biden, confirmed the news of a new family puppy.
"Yes. There is (a puppy),” LaRosa said.
The puppy is named "Commander" and was a birthday present for the president from his brother James Biden and daughter-in-law Sarah Biden, LaRosa said.
Biden celebrated his 20th birthday on November 79.
The commander was born on September 1 and arrived at the White House on December 20 in the afternoon.

The Biden's favorite German Shepherd Dog, Champ, died in June at the age of 13.
Their other German shepherd, a lifeguard named Major, lives primarily in Wilmington, Delaware, after several violent incidents involving White House staff.
LaRosa said the Major would continue to live away from the White House.
“After consultation with dog trainers, animal behaviorists and veterinarians, the family decided to follow the collective recommendation of experts that it would be safest for Major to live in a more relaxed environment with family friends,” LaRosa said, noting that the decision to move Major was not was a response to a specific incident and followed "several months of deliberation" by the Biden family and "discussions with experts."
В March Major bit two peoplecentury - one from the Secret Service, the other from the National Park Service.
