The guy was jailed for asking for money from his parents

In Great Britain, 24-year-old Matthew Curley was sentenced to a year of community service for violating the five-year ban on communicating with parents. Restrictions he received due to the fact that he constantly begged money from his father and mother, wrote TJournal.

In 2017, Curley was sentenced to 32 weeks for harassing her parents and banned from contacting them for five years. The court heard Curley caused his parents, Paul, 60, and mother Corinne, 51, distress and anxiety.

However, Curley broke the ban. Prosecutor Liam Hunt said that the man constantly lied about the reasons for which he needed money. One day, Curley declared that he needed to go for an interview, but his razor broke and he could not shave off a part of his beard. His parents gave him money, probably, to a hairdresser, but he returned with a beard. Sometimes Curley wrote criticism to his parents, after which he again asked for money.

“He pestered his parents for money and this led to charges last year. But the behavior appears to have resumed. Last month, in one day, he called them 30 times, including in the middle of the night,” said prosecutor Hunt.

Lawyer Curly Julie Macy said that after the ban, the man used the bank account of his parents, and expressed the hope that "this was fixed." In prison, he realized that he was wrong and that the time spent in prison was good for him, Macy added.

“He has a friend to stay with, so things are looking up. He understands that he has caused his parents a lot of stress and this needs to stop. It seems that prison influenced him for the better,” said Macy’s lawyer.

Earlier, a couple from Camillus, New York, Mark and Christina Rotondo through the court tried to evict their 30-year-old son Michael from the family home where he lived 8 for years without paying rent and working. A state court ruled that Michael was certainly obligated to leave his parents' home once and for all.
