A couple in Sweden wanted to name a child Vladimir Putin: why they were banned
In Sweden, the spouses were not allowed to name the child Vladimir Putin, reports "Ukrainian Truth".
Swedish authorities have rejected a request by a married couple from the southern city of Laholm to name their child Vladimir Putin.

Swedish parents must report the names of their newborns to the Skatteverket tax agency, where the couple was refused.
According to Swedish rules, names should not be offensive or dangerous to the wearer, and names that are clearly similar to surnames are not allowed.
It is unclear which of these principles formed the basis of the tax authority's decision, but this is not the first time it has rejected such requests. Previously, the authorities did not give permission for names like Ford, Allah, Pilsner and Q.

According to Statistics Sweden, there are a total of 1413 men named Vladimir and one or no men named Putin in Sweden (the statistics database does not indicate specific data on fewer than two people for confidentiality reasons).
