For Russian-speaking Americans Meest company does not even require additional introduction - almost certainly, everyone who sent parcels from the USA to Russia, Ukraine or Belarus used its services. But if previously parcels had to be taken to the company’s office, a large number of documents had to be filled out and sometimes stood in line, now everything can be done without leaving your computer.

In September, the company presented a new portal. Customers can now complete a customs declaration online, save shipping addresses and billing information, and track parcel delivery from America to Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and other countries of the former USSR and Eastern Europe.

How to send a parcel in a new way

To get started, you will need sign up... This is not a required option, but for those who send packages often, it will save a lot of time. After registration, go to the “new parcel” tab and choose where your parcel will go.

After that, move on to questions about the parcel - weight, size, what is in it. Thus, you fill out the customs declaration online and calculate the cost of the parcel.

You also sign the declaration online - after filling out all the data, a window for electronic signature will appear on the portal.

And that’s all - at the end you receive ready-made documents that you can print out and take along with the parcel to the nearest company office.

All registration will take no more than 15 minutes, and in the office you will have to spend only a couple of minutes to give the package to the company representative.

Plus 25 countries for sending parcels from the USA

“This service is especially developed in New York; our representative can come to the client’s home and pick up the package. Most often this is paid additionally, but sometimes a representative picks it up for free if it’s nearby and regular customers,” says Natalya.

The portal will store a 5-year history

According to Natalya, the idea of ​​​​an online portal was born a long time ago, but bringing it to life was not so easy - too many services and companies within the Meest groups had to be combined together. However, with the advent of the pandemic, it became clear that we could no longer wait.

“Of course, COVID-19 has accelerated the implementation of this idea, because contactless parcel processing is very important. Now the client can place a parcel at home, or even on the road (we have a mobile version of the portal), and have it delivered to the office when it is convenient for him. You can also pay for the parcel on the portal, if the client has accurate information about the weight of the parcel, and give it to our representative already fully processed,” says the director of the company.

But the most important thing, according to Natalya, is that the portal will store information about parcels.

“Very often, due to some personal circumstances, clients contact us with a request to provide them with the history of their parcels, for example, for 5 years. Previously, for this we needed to collect information and send it to the client individually, but now the client will have access to this information at any time on his page on the portal,” she explained.

Many people are afraid to leave their payment information online, however, according to Natalya, personal data and credit card data on the portal will be protected very reliably: company employees sign documents on non-disclosure of personal information.

“As for credit cards, we do not store this information, it is stored by the financial institution, that is, the bank with which we have a contract, and they also comply with all strict security rules,” added Natalia Brandafi.

In addition to parcels - money transfers

Among the services provided by Meest, not only sending parcels, but also sending money - which is often even more important for Russian-speaking Americans. For now, however, this service is available only in a few states: New Jersey, Illinois, California, Washington and Ohio. According to Natalya, they are now working to obtain a license to conduct money transfers in Pennsylvania and Florida.

“Each state has its own conditions for obtaining a license and they are very strict, the cost of insurance for this business is very high. But we don’t stop, and a New York state license is also in our plans,” she noted.
