Official election results in Ukraine: Zelensky may become the country's most popular president
As of 4: 00 in the morning of April 22 (21: 00 in New York), the Central Election Commission of Ukraine processed 60,89% of protocols. 72,96% of voters voted for Vladimir Zelensky, and 24,70% voted for Petro Poroshenko. 2,32% of bulletins are invalid.
If Zelensky is able to keep the current level of support until the end of the counting of votes, he will become the most popular president of Ukraine at the time of election in history, writes RBC.

According to the final data of the National exit poll in Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky gets more than 73% of the votes. If the leader of the Servant of the People party retains this level of support until the end of the counting of votes, he will become the most popular presidential candidate in the history of independent Ukraine.

In the election of 2014, Poroshenko won the first round, gaining a little more than half of the votes - 54,7% of votes.

During a briefing at headquarters, Zelensky said that the current president of the country and his rival in the elections - Petro Poroshenko - already called him and congratulated him on his victory. According to Zelensky, the president promised to help him with advice if necessary.
The leader of the party "Servant of the People", in turn, promised that if the public supports this decision, he will be ready to enter Poroshenko into the government.
How is the transfer of power to the president in Ukraine
- After the end of voting in the presidential elections in Ukraine, the Central Election Commission sums up the voting results. This should occur no later than three days after receipt of all protocols with data on the results of voting from district election commissions and no later than ten days after the holding of the elections themselves.
- A candidate is considered elected if he received more than half of the votes of the voters who took part in the voting (if there was a vote in one round), or a candidate who received more votes than his opponent in the second round (if there was a vote in two rounds).
- The newly elected President of Ukraine takes office no later than 30 days after the official announcement of the election results. He takes the oath to the people at the ceremonial meeting of the Verkhovna Rada. The President of the Constitutional Court takes the oath of the president.
- The president does not form the government of Ukraine, and the Cabinet does not resign after the presidential elections. All members of the government must approve the Verkhovna Rada.

- May suspend government orders if they do not comply with the Constitution of Ukraine.
- May appoint ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions of Ukraine in other states and organizations.
- Elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will be held in the autumn of 2019.
