Processing of American visas for Ukrainians was transferred to Germany: what you need to know

US Department of State warns citizens of Ukraine that the US Office in Ukraine does not currently offer visa services.

From now on, Ukrainian immigrant visas (IV), except in cases of adoption, will be processed at the Consulate General of Frankfurt, including Diversity Visa (DV) and Fianc(é)e (K-1) visas.

The U.S. Embassy in Warsaw will process adoption cases in Ukraine, as well as diplomatic and official visas of categories A and G. Citizens of Ukraine are asked to contact [email protected]if they have questions about Ukrainian immigrant visas and fiancé visas. Applications for a non-immigrant visa (NIV) can be processed wherever the Ukrainian applicant is physically located and can make an appointment. You can find instructions and information on the website of the respective embassy to apply for a NIV. A list of embassy websites can be found here: https://www.usembassy.gov.

Ukrainian applicants do not require a Schengen visa to enter Germany or Poland. However, IV and DV applicants who have already been assigned to an appointment in Frankfurt or Warsaw may request that their cases be transferred to another post. To do this, the applicant must contact the substitute to request the transfer of the case.

IV and DV applicants who have not yet been enrolled will be automatically transferred to Frankfurt and will be notified as soon as their appointment appears on the calendar. Unscheduled applicants from Ukraine who need to be interviewed outside of Germany can send inquiries to [email protected].
