Obama: Putin for Trump - a role model

On Tuesday, during a meeting with voters, US President Barack Obama sharply criticized Donald Trump for his public statements in which he expressed admiration for Vladimir Putin.
Speaking at a rally in support of Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama said about Donald Trump:
“Just last week he appeared on Russian state television, belittling our armed forces to curry favor with Putin.”
According to President Obama, the Republican Party has a history of opposing authoritarianism, and now its candidate "praises a man, calls him a strong leader because he invades other countries, imprisons his opponents, controls the press and plunges the economy into a long recession ".
Donald Trump made several statements during the presidential campaign in which he contrasted Vladimir Putin as a strong leader, he said, to Barack Obama, whom Trump calls a weak leader. Trump noted a high level of support for Putin by the Russians, over which Barack Obama made a irony on Tuesday:
"This is what happens when you control the media, you take away people's civil liberties and you jail dissidents."
The Russian factor has recently become a prominent topic of the presidential campaign in the United States. Hillary Clinton is trying to draw the attention of voters to the fact that many people from the inner circle of Trump have connections in the Russian economic and political elite, and the candidate himself speaks of Vladimir Putin with sympathy.
“It is inconceivable that a US presidential candidate would praise a Russian autocrat like Vladimir Putin,” Clinton said last week.
