Could not stand the loss: the husband of a teacher killed by a shooter in Texas, died of a 'broken heart'
Fourth grade teacher Irma Garcia was one of two teachers killed on May 24 in a mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalda, Texas. On the morning of May 26, her husband Joe died from a "broken heart" after the funeral of his beloved. The edition told in more detail CBS News.
“I sincerely believe Joe died of a broken heart,” wrote Irma Garcia’s cousin Debra Austin. “The loss of the love of his life, with whom he spent over 25 years, was unbearable.”
One of the couple's nephews tweeted that Joe Garcia died of a heart attack at home.
“These two will make anyone feel loved no matter what,” he wrote. “They have the purest hearts.”
Joe Garcia was 50 years old. Returning home after burying his wife, he "just fell over," his nephew John Martinez said.

"I can't find words to describe how we all feel," Martinez said.
According to the American Heart Association, death from grief, known as broken heart syndrome, is caused by a surge in stress hormones that is usually triggered by an emotionally intense event. The death of a loved one is a common cause of stress-induced cardiomyopathy.
It is often misdiagnosed as a heart attack due to similar symptoms, according to the association. Both attacks show a sudden change in rhythm, but there is no blockage of the arteries in broken heart syndrome.
The couple has been together since high school. They have four children aged 23, 19, 15 and 13.
