San Francisco topped the list of cities that offer the most favorable conditions for migrants. The city received high scores for all criteria except for the cost of living: this figure is 62,6% higher than the average in the United States.
50 cities rating compiled with money transfer service TransferWise and the Immigration Commission in New York, writes Colorlines.
Analysts rated cities by 9 points:
— Is the city a sanctuary city where illegal immigrants are not prosecuted by the law.
— Unlawful arrest policy, i.e., whether the city refuses to comply with orders from ICE agents.
— Office of Immigrant Affairs/New Americans.
— Access to the municipal identification program.
— Accessible public transport.
— Average cost of living.
- Minimal salary.
— Availability of preschool institutions.
— Number of graduates.
Researchers analyzed 180 sources, including data from the US Census Bureau, immigration and customs sites, and local government data.
“This topic is complex, and we had many options for measurement, but our goal was to draw attention to the key factors that matter to immigrants in the cities where they live,” the study says.

4. Colorado Springs, Colorado.
5. Las Vegas, Nevada.
6. Fort Worth, Texas.
7. Arlington, Texas.
8. Phoenix, Arizona.
9. Mesa, Arizona.
10. Kansas City, Missouri.
