Manhattan will build a house of gilded bricks
In the Lower East Side, Manhattan, an apartment building will be built of bricks covered with 24-carat gold dust. As writes edition Nine, the complex will be called 196 Orchard.
60 thousands of bricks by hand will produce an Italian company with 130-year history of Cerámica La Covadonga. The project is being developed by two companies INC's Adam Rolston (responsible for interior and facade design) and Magnum Real Estate Group Founder Ben Shaoul. Designers say that over time, the bricks will oxidize and become darker.
The cost of apartments varies from $ 965 thousand for a studio and $ 6,5 million for an apartment with four bedrooms. The interior of the rooms is designed in a rough style, dominated by materials such as concrete, bleached walnut and black Nero Marquina marble with a classic white vein.
The building also has a spa area of almost 3 thousand square meters. On the roof there is a terrace and an open kitchen, where residents can cook barbecues.
