A powerful tornado hit Florida: residents managed to capture the elements at close range

A tornado hit Palm Beach Gardens, a city in South Florida about 120 km north of Miami, flipping cars, uprooting trees and bringing down power lines throughout the area.

The horrific video captured the moment a tornado swept a car through Palm Beach Gardens around 17 p.m.

The car was thrown into the air and rolled over twice before being thrown back onto the pavement.

“I watched him for about 20 seconds to see which way he would move. And then, when I saw him coming towards us, I immediately closed the doors, went back to the apartment, and huddled in the bathroom. We started shaking for 20-25 seconds, there was a lot of noise,” said Andrew Laybourne, a resident of the apartment building.

The National Weather Service confirmed that the tornado hit the city.

The city wrote in a Facebook post that "several roadways were blocked by debris and fallen trees" on the evening of April 29, noting reports of "roof damage, minor structural damage to buildings, large numbers of downed trees, and large amounts of vehicle damage." The city also shared photos of the aftermath of the tornado, reports Yahoo.

One of the shots showed a cluster of cars in a parking lot, while the other two showed large trees and a streetlight scattered across several lanes of a major highway.

The National Weather Service in Miami has confirmed that the system that struck communities in and around Palm Beach Gardens was a tornado moving at "at least" 160 mph and said they are in the process of studying the damage. on his way.

The NOAA Storm Prediction Center has placed about 12 million people in Florida and southern Georgia at risk level 2 due to severe weather.
