California Governor Gavin Newsom and lawmakers are still finalizing budget details for the fiscal year, which begins July 1, but they have already approved the payments.

According to the plan, millions of Californians will receive payments of $ 600. Some dependent families, regardless of immigration status, will be able to qualify for an additional $ 500, that is, for some Californians, benefits will be up to $ 1100.

Checks will begin issuing in early September, said H. Dee Palmer, a spokesman for the California Department of Treasury.

This is in addition to the one-time direct payments that many low-income Californians, including illegal immigrants with individual taxpayer numbers (ITIN), receive under the state Golden State Stimulus program. These payments range from $ 600 to $ 1200.
