Billionaire Branson wants to invest in Ukrainian startups
During the World Economic Forum, at a private event "Ukrainian Lunch" in Davos, the famous British entrepreneur Richard Branson said that he was interested in Ukrainian startups.
About it wrote AVentures Capital partner Andrei Kolodyuk, who was also on the forum. He also confirmed to the editorial board that he spoke with Branson and discussed the issue of investment in Ukrainian projects.
At the forum, Sir Richard, speaking on the same stage with billionaire George Soros and Ukrainian Finance Minister Natalia Yaresko, said that Ukraine is strong with talents, particularly in the field of IT, and that he is interested in investing in Ukrainian start-ups.
In a conversation with Kolodyuk, a well-known entrepreneur clarified that we are talking about fintech projects. “He told me that he was pleased with the investments in TransferWise and was interested in investing in blockchain and Bitcoin startups in Ukraine,” the Ukrainian investor told a correspondent.
Richard Branson is a businessman and founder of the Virgin Group corporation. His fortune is estimated at $4,6 billion. In 2015, Branson came to Kyiv - he spoke at the Forum One business forum, and also talked with students.
