About the one who intend to support the Russian Americans in the upcoming presidential elections in the United States, told the publication Quartz.

Migrants problem

70-year-old Alla Sirota, who emigrated from Ukraine in 1979, believes that the States have changed a lot since her move, and not for the better.

“Many people come here, but they are not for this country. They do her a lot of harm. They changed it,” says Alla.

When she moved to New York from Odessa, she did not enjoy benefits from the US government, the woman worked and paid taxes. Now, according to Alla, the situation has changed, many are going to the USA to take advantage of financial assistance from the government. She noted that expatriates are different, and that she does not like them.

Alla Sirota is confident that the election of Donald Trump as president could solve this problem.

“I think he represents the values ​​that I support. I like his promises, and I think he can fulfill them,” says the woman.

Donald Trump is very popular in Brighton Beach, where he received 84% Republican support. This area is famous for the fact that it is inhabited by immigrants from the post-Soviet countries, for which it is sometimes even called “little Odessa”.

They actively support the presidential candidate who separates them from other migrants. Trump's anti-immigrant rhetoric pushed most of the groups of migrants away from him, while experts expect that among Russian-speaking Americans he will be victorious by a wide margin.

According to polls, 62% of migrants from post-Soviet countries in different states intend to vote for Trump.

Anything but socialism

It is worth noting that the emigrants from these countries supported the Republican candidate in the previous three elections. Experts believe that the commitment to Republican candidates is due to the fact that they are more active in opposing socialist ideology, and immigrants from the USSR know what it is.

Moving to the states 27 years ago, Boris confirmed the opinion of experts.

“Hillary will lead us to something like socialism - more government, more social security, more of this, more of that. I saw what this leads to, nothing good,” he said.

Alexander 45-year-old does not like any of the candidates, but, choosing between Clinton and Trap, he will prefer the latter.

“He has no political experience, but maybe that's a good thing. We need a manager, a businessman, someone who understands how to spend money,” he said.

Experts note that among emigrants from post-Soviet countries, a belief has developed that all politicians are liars, so they willingly listen to Trump’s idea that he, as a person not related to politics, will make the country more successful.

Trump's relationship with Putin

Relations between Trump and Putin, which many media call friendly, are perceived differently on Brighton Beach. Some believe that this is good, and Trump will be as strong a leader as Putin; others - that the United States should have friendly relations with such an influential country as Russia, and in this regard, Trump is doing the right thing; still others hope that the Republican candidate will change his attitude towards Putin as soon as he becomes president of the United States.

Supporters of clinton

But there is a group of Russian speakers living in Brighton Beach who do not support Trump. This younger generation is those who moved to the United States as infants or were born here. They see themselves as more American, and 55% are projected to vote for Clinton despite their parents supporting Trump.
