How to replace the green card

The green card is a certificate of a permanent resident of the United States who does not have the citizenship of this state. The presence of a green card gives foreign persons the right to stay and work in the United States of America.

The replacement of the green card occurs in the following cases:

• the previous card was lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed;
• the green card holder has reached 14 years, while the card has been issued before that age;
• if labor migration was changed to permanent residence in the United States;
• you have a previous version of an invalid registration card (for example, USCIS Form AR-3, Form AR-103, or Form I-151 - no longer valid) and need to replace it with the current one;
• card contains incorrect information;
• if the name or other biographical information has been legally changed since the last receipt of the green card;
• if you have never received a previous card that was issued by the US Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Document submission methods for replacing a green card:

If you have any questions, you can call the US Citizenship and Immigration Services Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283. At the same time, you must be ready to provide US Citizenship and Immigration Services personal data: a check number, your registration number, name and date of birth.

Appeal in case of refusal

If the application for the renewal of the green card is rejected, the person may appeal. Thus, the person asks the Office of Citizenship and Immigration Services to reconsider their decision.
