Immigration detained Russian hockey player
The US Immigration Service detained Russian hockey player Vyacheslav Voinov, who in late August released from imprisonment after term for domestic violence. When the athlete was arrested is unknown. On Friday, 28 August, he was seen at the location of the Los Angeles Kings team, which he played for.
The Voinov case must be considered by the immigration court. Los Angeles Times notes that the hockey player faces deportation.
Vyacheslav Voinov was detained on October 20 2014 of the year. Then he brought his wife to the hospital, who had bruises and abrasions. It turned out that she was a victim of domestic violence.
In early July, Voinov made a deal with the investigation: he was put in jail for 90 days, from where he came out half a year later. The hockey player is also sentenced to a fine of 700 dollars.
National Hockey League (NHL) indefinitely suspended Voinov from participating in competitions and training. His disqualification was the longest in the history of the NHL with 1927 year.
Voynov has been advocating Los Angeles Kings since 2012.
