The Immigration Service has changed the requirements for filing documents on the green card
The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has asked applicants to put the original valid signature in the forms provided to the agency.
The agency explains this requirement by the desire to protect both the national immigration system itself and those who use it. If forms are submitted by a corporation or other legal entity, they must be signed by an authorized person.
The new rules come into force on March 18 2018.
Final memorandum comes to replace interim memorandumwhich contains elements of a valid signature and authorized organizations that may file petitions with USCIS for the use of a person’s signature on the basis of a power of attorney.
The prohibition on signatures by proxy does not affect signatures on behalf of persons younger than 14 years or persons with disabilities. In the final memorandum, additional changes were made, such as:
• the applicant must use a valid signature;
• USCIS may reject the form submitted with a non-original (erroneous) signature, instead of offering to correct it.
USCIS will publish revised guidelines for individual forms to clearly indicate signature requirements. Immigration will also consider electronic signature requirements in future guides.
We remind you that the forms of the Immigration Service are now you can pay online credit cards.
