Immigration Service has changed the validity of conditional green cards
Effective September 4, 2021, US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) extended the validity period of a conditional green card from 18 to 24 months. This is stated in press release on the website of the department.

The change applies to petitioners filing Form I-751 (petition to remove conditions for permanent residence) or Form I-829 (petition to remove conditions from an investor's green card). The timeline has been extended due to increased delays in processing these petitions due to the excessive workload on USCIS staff.
Upon submission of Form I-751 or I-829, the applicant receives a receipt notice from the immigration office of these forms.
Such receipt notice can be used in conjunction with Form I-551 or a conditional green card as proof of their status as a permanent resident of the United States for up to 24 months after their green card expires and while their case is pending with USCIS.

The extension of the validity period also applies to those applicants who submitted forms for the removal of conditionality from the green card before September 4. The Immigration Service will issue new receipt notices to conditional US permanent residents who filed Form I-751 or I-829 by September 4 and whose cases are still pending. These receipt notices will also serve as proof of status retention for 24 months after the expiration date of their green card.
