At the same time, the businessman made a diagnosis for himself - earlier he complained that he passed several tests for COVID-19 at once, and they showed different results. Elon Musk announced that he had contracted the coronavirus - the billionaire posted the corresponding message on his Twitter account.

“I received different [test] results from different laboratories, but most likely I have a moderate coronavirus. The symptoms are similar to a minor cold, which is not surprising, since coronavirus is a type of cold,” the entrepreneur said.

When asked by a subscriber about his health, Musk replied that he was “either better or worse.” He added that his illness is similar to a common cold, but is characterized by pain throughout the body and general weakness.

At the same time, the businessman assured his followers that he had previously encountered severe forms of colds and flu, so he knows what he is talking about - the “coronavirus” that Musk suspects he has has rather mild symptoms.

From the first message of the billionaire, it is easy to see that he diagnosed himself on his own, having ceased to rely on medical tests. Musk has previously criticized modern COVID-19 tests for their ineffectiveness.

“Some nonsense is happening. I took four COVID-19 tests today. Two of them showed a negative result, and two more showed a positive result. Same equipment, same test, same nurse. Rapid antigen detection test from BD [Becton Dickinson company],” the head of Tesla said on his Twitter account, adding that he was going to take PCR tests in different laboratories.

Due to the fact that some of the analyzes nevertheless gave a positive result, Elon Musk was not allowed to the cosmodrome at Cape Canaveral, from where on Sunday evening, November 15, the first regular launch of astronauts to the ISS from SpaceX and NASA took place.

“NASA and our commercial partners have a clear plan to stabilize health conditions. If you don't follow it, you can compromise the entire mission. It doesn’t matter if you’re Elon Musk or Jim Bridenstine [NASA director], if you don’t follow protocol, then we can’t let you near the team,” said Steve Stich, head of NASA’s manned program.

According to US aerospace agency rules, all employees with a fever and cough, as well as a positive test for COVID-19, must “go home immediately.” However, they can return to work only when they have no symptoms of infection.

In March, Musk predicted that the number of new cases of the disease would be close to zero in the United States by the end of April, and expressed the opinion that panic would do more harm to the country than the coronavirus. Interfax.
