A 16-year-old girl of Bulgarian descent died in Atlanta, Georgia as a result of the Blue Whale game, reports CBS North Carolina.

The girl’s brother discovered her drawings with whales and inscriptions in Russian, referring to the game “Blue Whale”. While the suicide investigation continues, the family continues to seek and spread information about Blue Whale in hopes that it will save the lives of other teenagers.

Those close to the Atlanta girl (her name has not been released) claim that she loved to draw and had a cheerful personality. A few days before her suicide, she asked her mother for permission to go up to the roof, and the woman later, after reading about the game on the Internet, thought that this could be one of the tasks in the Blue Whale.

Many American publications, including Bloomberg, wrote that in reality the talk about the "Blue Whale" only distracts attention from the true causes of child suicide. To date, there have been no reports that one of the American teenagers committed suicide or attempted to end it because of the Blue Whale; nor have there been any specialized investigations or detentions.
