Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba, Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) Valeriy Zaluzhny, Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak and Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova took part in the meetings with the US delegation in the Ukrainian capital. They discussed defense assistance, strengthening the sanctions policy against Russia, financial support for Ukraine and security guarantees.

Zelensky thanked the United States for the fact that the defense support provided has already reached $3,4 billion and dwelled separately on the sanctions policy.

He handed over to the American side the Action Plan to tighten sanctions against the Russian Federation, developed by the Yermak-McFaul group.

The most important results of the arrival of Blinken and Austin in Kyiv:

• US to resume diplomatic presence in Ukraine;
• US President Joe Biden will appoint Bridget Brink as US Ambassador to Ukraine;
• Blinken and Austin reaffirmed the Biden administration's intention to provide an additional $713 million in foreign military funding for Ukraine and 15 other US partners in Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkans. Of these, $322 million will be allocated to Ukraine, including for the supply of weapons and training of the Ukrainian military.

“The bottom line is this: We don’t know how the rest of this war will unfold, but we do know that a sovereign, independent Ukraine will exist much longer than Vladimir Putin will be in office,” Blinken said after the meeting with Zelensky. — US support for Ukraine in its desire to move forward will continue. “During the meeting in Kyiv, we expressed our deepest condolences to President Zelensky for the death of so many civilians and, of course, for the loss of the brave military personnel who did an excellent job pushing back Russian troops. We also expressed our admiration for their professionalism and commitment to protecting Ukrainian democracy,” Austin said.
