US Department of State has changed registration dates for participation in the DV-2022 green card lottery

Over the past month, immigration sources and even the US embassy have reported that online registration for participation in the Diversity Visa Program 2022 (DV-2022) lottery will take place from October 1 to November 3, 2020. According to the US State Department, the online registration period for the DV-2022 green card lottery starts on Wednesday 7 October 2020, at 12:00 pm Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) (GMT-4) and ends on Tuesday 10 November 2020 at 12:00 Eastern Standard Time (EST) (GMT-5).

The State Department notes that all applicants for the DV-2022 program must be recognized as eligible for a visa or change status by the end of fiscal 2022 (September 30, 2022) and reminds: individuals who submitted more than one application during the registration period will be disqualified.

The official website of the US State Department has a fresh instruction in english on how to participate in the DV-2022 green card lottery. Last year ForumDaily published detailed instructions for filling out the questionnaire (DV-2021)translated into Russian.

The program will provide up to 55 permanent resident cards, or green cards, in 000, the authorities said.

Applications must be submitted only through the website www.dvprogram.state.gov.

Countries whose natives are NOT allowed to take part in the DV-2022 green card lottery:

• Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, China (including Hong Kong), Colombia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, South Korea, United Kingdom (excluding Northern Ireland) and its dependent territory, as well as Vietnam.

Due to the expected huge number of applications, State Department officials are urging participants not to wait until the end of the petition period, as excessive demand will slow down the system over time.
