Google can track people for years, and they don't even know about it: how to disable this feature

Perhaps Google is tracking your movements even when you are not aware of it. It all has to do with a system called Google Location History. What is it and how to disable it, the publication said. New York Post.

It is important to note that you may not understand exactly what you signed up for.

How to check Google Location History

There are several different ways to check your Google location history.

The fastest and easiest way is to just follow this link on the Google Maps timeline.

This will show you exactly where you were on a particular day.

And it can even track your modes of travel, as well as the times you have been in certain places.

If you are using the Google Maps app, enter the menu and select Your Timeline.

The results can be shocking if you've had Google Location History enabled for several years.

Suddenly finding that Google is hosting an extremely detailed map that tracks your actual movements over the years can be frustrating.

Fortunately, this feature can be turned off.

How to turn off Google Location History

You can turn off Google Location History at any time.

Go to link and disable.

However, to prevent Google from truly tracking you, you also need to turn off website and activity tracking.

You can see your tracked location markers by link.

Unfortunately, these location markers are mixed with a lot of other information, making them difficult to find and remove.

To turn it off, just click on the link above and navigate to the activity controls.

From there, you can turn off activity tracking and web search tracking across all Google sites, apps and services.
