The head of the Zelensky Office wrote a letter of resignation 73 the day after his appointment

The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andrei Bogdan, wrote a letter of resignation at his own will.

“I ask you to dismiss me from my position at my own request from the moment I wish,” the statement says, but there is no date or signature on the document.

The President’s office did not officially confirm Bogdan’s desire to resign.

“Nobody is going anywhere,” said Deputy Head of the Office Ruslan Ryaboshapka.

At the same time, the interlocutor close to the leadership of the presidential party “Servant of the People” confirmed the publication RBC information about the resignation of Bogdan.

Lawyer Bogdan was appointed the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine 21 in May. Bogdan was born in 1976 year in Lviv. In 2007 and 2014, he ran for the Verkhovna Rada, from 2007 to 2010, the Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine worked for the year. Bogdan provided legal support for the Vladimir Zelensky campaign.

The president was criticized by various politicians for having appointed Bogdan as head of his office, since the latter held several posts under Viktor Yanukovych and therefore should be subject to the law on lustration. A petition appeared on the president’s website demanding Bogdan’s resignation. He himself declared that he could fulfill the duties assigned to him by Zelensky, since this structure is not state and, accordingly, is not subject to the law.

The law “On the cleansing of power”, also known as the law on lustration, was signed by the previous president of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, in 2014. The main purpose of the document is to prevent those who were in power during the reign of Yanukovych, and also who participated in the violent suppression of protests on the Maidan from holding office. These people are forbidden to hold official positions in government and local government for five or ten years.
