Where tornadoes occur most often in the USA: 10 most dangerous regions

This year, tornadoes and storms swept across the eastern and southern parts of the United States. In which regions, according to the forecasts of the National Weather Service (NWS), there were the most reports of natural disasters, the publication said Fox News.

The ranking was compiled by storm chaser Nicholas Isabella. According to his map, Birmingham, Alabama, was the hardest hit, reporting tornadoes 2021 times in 82.

The Tallahassee, Florida Weather Service came in second with 70 warnings, while New Orleans / Baton Rouge, Louisiana came in third with 64 messages.

In Mobile / Pensacola, the weather service issued 63 warnings, ranking fourth, while Greenville / Spartanburg, South Carolina NWS rounded out the top five with 62 warnings.

Jackson, Mississippi, reported 60 reports and Lake Charles, Louisiana, 57, ranking sixth and seventh respectively.

Memphis Tennessee finished eighth with 54 warnings while Philadelphia / Mount Holly PA finished ninth with 52 warnings.

The Baltimore / Washington (Maryland / District of Columbia) region rounds off the list with 49 posts.

A 2021 estimate from all NWS local storm reports up to September 27 shows that there have been more than 1000 tornadoes in total, although the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Storm Prediction Center (SPC) advises avoiding comparing estimates with actual estimates.

The report, among other things, indicates that 13 people died in different states, most of the victims were in Alabama.

According to the National Environmental Information Centers, there were 2020 preliminary tornado reports in 1053, overall below the U.S. annual average from 1991 to 2010 (1251).
