Fun Double: Macy's Prepares Mega-Events for Christmas

It's time to party with Macy's this holiday season! How the legendary department store plans to celebrate Christmas, told the publication Yahoo.

Santa Claus returns to visit Macy's Santaland in person in Chicago, New York, and San Francisco by reservation, and a brand new digital experience kicks off, allowing kids of all ages to experience the magic from home through macys.com/Santaland.

Some cities across the country will also host special holiday events, including Animated Holiday Windows, Macy's Great Tree Displays, Christmas Light Show and Dickens Village.

Santa Claus is back to delight kids of all ages at Macy 'this holiday season.

Since 1861, generations of children have enjoyed the magic of visiting the one and only Santa Claus at Macy's. This cherished holiday tradition will return in person at Macy's Santaland in select stores this year on pre-order.

To bring the wonder of winter closer to the kids, Macy's Santaland at Home will also be available digitally this year with an all-new virtual adventure at macys.com/Santaland.

From visiting the one and only Santa Claus to Macy's Great Tree Displays, Animated Holiday Windows and more, we're excited to bring the holiday spirit back to communities across the country," said Will Koss, Macy's vice president of branded entertainment. “We're especially excited about the return of in-person experiences with Santa Claus at Macy's Santaland in Chicago, New York and San Francisco. Because the health and safety of our employees and guests is our top priority, a team of dedicated elves took several steps to create a fun, whimsical celebration that will create cherished memories from a season long gone.”

The Enchanted World showcasing Santa's Village and Worskshop, Macy's Santaland will open for shopping at Macy's on State Street in Chicago on Saturday, November 6, and at Macy's Herald Square in New York and Union Square in San Francisco on Friday 26 November.

To ensure a safe and pleasant atmosphere for all guests, a visit to the winter wonderland will be done by reservation only.

Guests should visit macys.com/Santaland to reserve a special visit to Santa Claus.
Reservations open five days prior to the desired date of attendance to ensure the greatest possible access for guests wishing to attend in person.

Each day, reservations will open at 5:30 am local time and will show open slots for reservations for the next five days (for example, reservations for December 16 will open on December 11 at 5:30 am local time).

Protecting the health of guests, Santa Claus and his elves is Macy's top priority, so such visits will be non-contact and social distancing as children share their Christmas wishlists with Santa.

In addition, Macy's Santaland will comply with all city and state health and safety regulations in force in each location regarding indoor masking and social distancing. Macy's Santaland closes on Friday 24 December.

Virtual Cheer! Macy's Santaland at home

A whole new immersive digital experience awaits kids everywhere as they visit Santa's Workshop virtually through Macy's Santaland at Home.

Visit macys.com/Santaland for an interactive digital journey as the elves of Santaland lead the way through Santa's Village and Workshop, stopping for sightseeing and interactive games.

At the end of the game, kids will meet Santa through an interactive video where they can share their holiday wishlist and then create a special selfie with Santa Claus.

At the end of the session, families will be able to download their memorable photos.

Macy's Santaland at Home will be available free of charge to everyone from Friday 26 November to Friday 24 December.

To access the site, an adult must create an account, grant the appropriate permissions to activate the program, including approving hardware access for interactive items, and select a preferred Santa Claus.

Iconic Christmas Displays Macy's Holiday Windows is the first department store to feature Christmas displays. Since 1874, Macy's has been bringing the holiday spirit to its windows.

Macy's will showcase a journey of discovery and triumph in select stores across the country this November, as a special reindeer takes to the skies to help Santa Claus bring joy to millions.

Macy's Big Tree, Christmas Light Show & Dickens Village

The holidays wouldn't be complete without Macy's charming Great Tree.

These incredible trees will delight the audience with a dazzling play of light and Christmas fun. Gorgeous trees, in various forms, can be seen at Macy's on State Street in Chicago (inside the world famous Walnut Room), Macy's Lenox Square in Atlanta, Macy's Downtown Boston and Macy's Union Square in San Francisco.

At Macy's Center City in Philadelphia, the iconic Dickens Village and Christmas light show returns. Macy's Dickens Village will show guests selected animated shows that tell the story of Charles Dickens' classic A Christmas Carol.

Beginning Monday November 22nd, guests must book in advance by visiting macys.com/Santaland. Macy's Dickens Village will be open from Friday, November 26th to Friday, December 31st.

Guests looking to see Macy's spectacular Christmas light show can enjoy a light-filled holiday journey through popular Christmas stories including The Nutcracker and the world-famous Wanamaker Organ, starting on Wednesday December 1st, once a day at Grand Court or upon request at macys.com/Santaland.

Santa's Social Calendar

Throughout December, kids can chat with Santa live on social media. His online social calendar at macys.com/Santaland will detail when his 'Cookies and Milk with Santa' live events will take place.
