Ivan Karnilin has been the mayor of Nizhny Novgorod since October 2015.

Knyshov claims that shortly after his family moved into an apartment in January 2016, a window began to leak in his daughter's room during the rains, the water damaged the floor. The owners of the house reported that there was such a problem in the whole house, and that it would soon be fixed, but, according to the lawsuit, they had not yet taken any action.

The plaintiff also added that once, in his bedroom, the fire alarm system suddenly turned on, filling the room with black water, from which came a “disgusting smell”.

After that, according to him, a pipe broke in the bathroom wall, the owner refused to repair it, this led to the appearance of mold, which is why his wife and children had breathing problems and burning eyes.

The family described the situation with the word “nightmare” - they reported that since the start of the problems there was no day that they could spend in the apartment comfortably, and they eventually moved.

Knyshov requires $ 360 thousand from the developer for the damage.

That, in turn, claims that the fire safety system was damaged by the workers Knyshov hired and that the flow in the window was corrected.
