I personally heard about both Los Angeles and New York about the same amount of abuse and enthusiasm.

What do not like in the country of free toilets, burgers and national parks? What may not like in a country where hundreds of thousands of immigrants, including those from post-Soviet countries, are going to leave every year.

U.S. absolutely perfect in terms of tourism - a perfect infrastructure and a network of national parks throughout the country, three oceans and almost all climatic zones. What can you not love her?

I left my rose-colored glasses in the States after my first visit to Los Angeles, which happened about 25 years ago. Absolutely all those who have been in the States, necessarily for something scolded this country. Either the police are too loyal, on the contrary, they refused to take selfies, or there were too many tourists, or many fat, or ugly cities.

Chose the most common causes of discontent and try to list them here. When you are not fascinated by the country before your arrival, there will be no disappointments.

What do not like tourists and newcomers to immigrants in the States

Firstly, it is bans. They are much larger than what we are accustomed to in their own countries. Most of these bans in the United States "work" in contrast to post-Soviet countries. This is the most unpleasant. That is, if it is not written, then most likely the implementation of this law is monitored.

And if you can not keep an open bottle of beer in your car, then, as a rule, it is better not to drink beer in the car, especially since it is not very convenient, as if you smoke in the toilet. Americans ban honor and try not to break. From my own experience I will say that if with a little bit of intelligence, you can break it.

Terrible, from the point of view of a European snob, architecture. Be prepared that the architecture to which you are accustomed to Europe, in America there can not be. American cities are built on the same principle - skyscrapers in downtown (center) in case the city is large. The rest of the city is a one- or two-story building, often similar to each other. There are exceptions in the cities for millionaires, but they are few.

In the states vast distances. The tourist will have to be patient and rent a car. Just take a walk in a big city type Los Angeles fail, exception San Francisco, and that conditional. In 90 percent of cases, even to walk around the city, you need to get behind the wheel. Many it is unreal at first enrages.

Life Americans do not understand our man. Almost everyone lives by the principle - at first we work a lot and for a long time, we forget about family and friends and only then we have a good and high-quality rest. Perhaps that is why the majority of Americans traveling are accomplished people who have earned capital, which in their old age spend on pleasure.

But most of all they strain prices. First, they are tall. All because of the high standard of living of Americans. Everything here is much more expensive than in Europe, with the exception of fuel and cars. Because of the prices, traveling to the USA becomes the goal of several years of life and for the majority of our citizens an unattainable goal. In addition, the prices are high, the price tag is not the price that will eventually pay. To the cost of goods in the store, lunch in a restaurant or the price of the hotel you need to add local taxes, taxes and tips to the waiter, and this is from 20 to 30 percent.

In the US, pretty boring people, this is if we talk about average Americans, whom the average tourist usually encounters. There are few bright characters here, such as we are used to seeing in Hollywood. The exception is some areas of Los Angeles and San Francisco, as well as Las Vegas. Of the spectrum of characters that I met in the 90s, sexual minorities, rockers and surviving punks and hippies periodically please with their appearance.
