Review your income record
Review the earnings listed on your Social Security Statement entry. To receive an online statement, log in to your personal account on My Social Security and check your account. If you see any discrepancies, contact the Social Security Administration.
If you want to report identity theft when someone used your personal information, including your social security number, to get a loan or a job, file a tax return, or run another business, visit Federal Trade Commission about identity theft. Request a free credit report
You can order free credit reports annually from three major credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian and TransUnion).

- fill in Annual credit report request form; or
- call 1-877-322-8228
File a police report
File a report with the local police or where the identity theft occurred.
