Former NATO Secretary General is not allowed into the US
The United States did not give permission for the former NATO Secretary General and former EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana to enter the country without visa.

Solana is a Spanish citizen, residents of this country have the right to stay in the US for 90 days without a visa. However, they must be registered through the ESTA electronic entry permit system. Request policy in this system was rejected, because of what he was not allowed into the country, writes RBC.
After refusing to register a visit, Spanish citizens may still be allowed to enter, but in this case they need to apply for a US visa, and this process takes a longer time.
“I requested a visa for entry. I hope that everything will be settled, ”said Solana.
In his opinion, the reason for the refusal lies in the fact that he had previously visited Iran at the invitation of President Hassan Rouhani.
“Some people have to drive to support the negotiation process,” he stressed.
Solana noted that the refusal of entry prevented him from taking part in an event organized by the Brookings Institute; he also intends to work in the country, as he is a professor at a number of American universities.
According to the edition El Paiswhich refers to its sources in the US embassy in Madrid, the ESTA system automatically rejects applications from citizens who have visited Iran, Syria, Iraq, Sudan, Libya, Somalia or Yemen in the past.
As an EU representative on foreign policy and security, Javier Solana visited Iran in 2015 to participate in negotiations on a nuclear deal - an agreement that Tehran undertook to limit the nuclear program and put it under international control in exchange for the cancellation of sanctions side of the West. In addition, he visited Iran during the inauguration of President Hassan Rouhani.
