Charity evenings in honor of Vyshyvanka Day will be held in the USA: the funds raised will go to help Ukrainian refugees

On May 19, many cities in the United States will host a gala evening on the occasion of Vyshyvanka Day, a holiday named after traditional Ukrainian clothing. Vyshyvankas are, as a rule, shirts and blouses, decorated with magnificent ornaments of colorful embroidery. Today, vyshyvanka is not only a part of the national Ukrainian culture, but also an important symbol of a peaceful and free Ukraine, its identity and beauty. In recent years, this day has finally turned from a national holiday into an international one, it has become a symbol of support for Ukraine as a victim of aggression.

This year, one of the organizers of the festive evenings in New York, Northern California, as well as the states of Washington and Arizona, was the charitable foundation Central Park Angels. As the volunteers of the foundation emphasize, the guests of the holiday will be able not only to get in touch with the original Ukrainian culture, but also to donate funds that will literally help save more than one human life.

Previously, Forum Daily has already talked about how the fund's volunteers delivered humanitarian aid to the war zone, were engaged in the evacuation of people and helped Ukrainian refugees arriving at the southern border of the United States. Separate volunteer groups are engaged in the placement and organization of medical care for Ukrainian refugees in Poland.

«We have formed a group of more than 200 people working around the clock in Ukraine, Poland, Moldova, Romania and the USA. Our volunteers help find accommodation, deliver food and medicine, provide psychological assistance to both refugees leaving Ukraine and those who cannot leave the country and are forced to face the hardships and cruelty of war every day.”, the volunteers explain.

This time Vyshyvanka Day is held under the slogan Compassion with Fashion, which can be roughly translated as “Through fashion to compassion”. Volunteers organize charity festive evenings to raise funds for housing, food, medicine, gasoline and other needs of Ukrainians. Volunteers emphasize: without exception, all proceeds will go to those who need help most of all today.

At the festival, guests will see a demonstration of unique embroidered shirts, art exhibitions, a sale of souvenirs and samples of Ukrainian folk art, auctions, entertainment and treats.

«Some of the embroidered shirts we demonstrate can be called a real treasure, one-of-a-kind samples, since the craftsmen who embroidered them have completely switched to making military uniforms for the Ukrainian army, and so far they cannot sew anything else", they stressed.
