Drone rammed a passenger plane in Canada
In Quebec, Canada, an unmanned vehicle crashed into a commercial flight during its approach. This was announced by the portal Ottawa Citizen, with reference to the Minister of Transport of Canada Marc Garneau.
"October 12 aircraft company Skyjet collided with a drone while arriving at Quebec International Airport. This is the first time that the drone collided with a commercial aircraft in Canada, and I am very glad that the aircraft received only minor damage. ”
“Despite the fact that the overwhelming majority of operators of unmanned aerial vehicles are responsible, we were concerned about the incident that prompted me to take action and impose temporary restrictions on unmanned aerial vehicles. I would like to remind the operators that the threat to the safety of the aircraft is extremely significant and is a serious crime. Anyone who breaks the rules can be fined up to Canadian 25 000 dollars or imprisonment. This refers to drones of any size used for any purpose in “No Drone Zones,” the minister added.
During the 2017 of the year (according to information for today) 1596 incidents involving drones occurred. Of these, 131 violated safety rules.
