Belarusians held a rally in the US capital and turned to Biden

Representatives of the Belarusian diaspora living in the USA joined the events in Washington dedicated to the announcement of the results of the elections in the United States. During the action, which took place on the national alley, the Belarusians turned to the elected President Joe Biden.

“I would certainly wish the new US administration to be more active in the international arena,” said protest participant Alexander Yankovsky. — Including in the post-Soviet space. And, of course, I really want the words spoken by Joe Biden to come true. That is, for the international community to increase pressure on Lukashenko’s dictatorial regime.”

The Belarusians, who for the fourth month have been drawing attention to the rigging of elections by the Lukashenka regime, drew the attention of the Americans passing by that other countries, such as Belarus, are only dreaming of a peaceful change of power.

“I just hope that America’s foreign policy will no longer be fixated on America First,” protest participant Pavel Vasilenok shared his opinion. “And yet America will restore its leadership as the bearer of democratic, human, and humanitarian values. And this will be reflected in the policy towards Belarus, Ukraine and other states, where, unfortunately, at the moment the situation is very deplorable in this regard.”

“Joe Biden must still set a goal for these inhuman phenomena that are happening in Eastern Europe to finally stop. And when defining a goal, you need to determine the means by which this can be achieved. First of all, I think international cooperation will improve and strengthen. Under the previous administration, certain ties were broken. In my opinion, the international community will be able to react in a more consolidated manner and take measures against Lukashenko and others like him,” says a participant in the action.
