The American company introduced a new design of a flying car.

The American company Terrafugia introduced a new design concept for a flying TF-X, the first version of which was successfully tested in the 2009 year.

The model will be equipped with a hybrid power plant. When driving on the ground and during takeoff, the necessary traction will be provided by electric motors with battery power. In flight, an internal combustion engine (ICE) with horsepower 300 power will drive, causing the pusher propeller to rotate in the radome, installed in the rear of the machine. ICE can also be used to generate energy for recharging batteries.

In the air, the Terrafugia TF-X will be able to reach speeds of up to 320 km / h, with a maximum range of eight hundred km. The cabin can accommodate four people, including the driver-pilot. The car-airplane will receive an autopilot system and automatic take-off / landing.

A smaller model of the TF-X will soon undergo wind tunnel testing at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. It is planned that the model will enter the market in eight to twelve years.
