Amazon will introduce cash in stores without cash registers and sellers: what went wrong

7 in May, the next Amazon Go was opened in New York - an automated offline store with the concept of "without cash registers, merchants and cash." The first such supermarket appeared in Seattle's 2018: customers logged in to the app, collected goods, and when they left, the cost of purchases was withdrawn from a bank card. But in the case of New York, Amazon had to partially abandon the system - the store also received cash payments and sellers, writes TJournal.

Technology with the recognition of purchases and automatic payment did not disappear. But according to NBC, Amazon introduced more traditional functions because of the criticism of the “discrimination” of people without bank accounts and cards - in the US, there are 6,5% of such households. In some American cities, shops with no cash option were banned.

To pay in cash, buyers must give them to an Amazon Go employee who will scan the goods and issue a change if necessary. Publication Gizmodo noted that in fact in the automatic store "without cashiers" appeared and the function of the cashier.
