Airport Orlando, Florida, will begin scanning the faces of all passengers on international flights, writes Fox News.
Orlando will be the first airport in the United States to use face recognition technology on such a scale. This technology is already partially used by airports in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Las Vegas, Miami, New York and Washington.
Face recognition technology will be used at all gates in the international departures sector of the airport.
A face scan will be conducted simultaneously with the Department of Homeland Security Department’s biometric database to verify the identification of passengers.
It is noted that US citizens may refuse to pass the scan.
