Crimea will not “recognize” the US in response to accusations of annexation
The head of the Crimea Sergey Aksenov said that he and the inhabitants of the Russian annexed Peninsula do not intend to recognize the existence of the United States of America. The words of the Crimean governor, which are quoted by the TASS agency, sounded in response to the speech of US Vice President Joseph Biden in the Verkhovna Rada.
Visited Ukraine Biden said during the visitthat America will “never recognize the Russian Federation’s attempts to annex Crimea” and will insist that Russia has violated and continues to violate international rules by “occupying Ukrainian territory.”
“Mr. Biden told fairy tales today that America does not recognize Crimea, and everyone stood and clapped. We can definitely say that Crimea will never recognize either America or the government of Ukraine,” Aksenov said at a meeting of the interdepartmental headquarters for liquidating the consequences electricity outages in Crimea.
The governor of Crimea called the citizens of Ukraine “allies and friends”, and called Ukraine itself an “unfortunate country.”
On March 16, 2014, the authorities of Crimea and Sevastopol held a referendum on the issue of “reunification with Russia”, which was not recognized neither Ukraine nor the international community, who call the events that followed the annexation of the Ukrainian territory.
The agreement on the “acceptance of the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol into the Russian Federation” was signed by President Vladimir Putin 18 March, that is, two days after the referendum.
In October of this year, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said that Ukraine intends to demand from Russia at least a trillion dollars for the annexed Crimea and the destroyed Donbass.

As Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland, Washington said earlier will not refuse sanctions in relation to Russia as long as the Crimea will not be returned to Ukraine.
