People face dangers every day - serious and not so serious. People in the United States fear some types of dangers more than others. According to the site Gallup4 of 10 is afraid of Americans being massacred, and 30% of adults are worried about terrorism. Many are also afraid of becoming victims of hate crimes or sexual assault. However, many Americans do not feel safe because of fears completely unrelated to crime or terrorism. Many are afraid to take mortgages because of their duration and risk of losing their jobs, some residents are afraid to remain without health insurance, thousands of people are afraid to visit unprotected sites because of the risk of data theft.

Edition WalletHub decided to analyze major American cities in terms of security in them, moreover, in its broad sense, associated with both physical and financial, emotional and other risks.

To do this, 180 large US cities were analyzed by 35 key safety criteria (from the number of attacks per capita to the unemployment rate and the quality of roads). After that, each city received a total average score on a 100-scale, based on the performance of all criteria, which determined its place in the ranking.

1. Nashua, New Hampshire (87,36 points and 100);
2. South Burlington, Vermont (87,34 points);
3. Warwick, Rhode Island (87,18 points);
4. Columbia, MD (86,52 points);
5. Gilbert, AZ (85,29 points);
6. Fargo, North Dakota (85,29 points);
7. Lewiston, Maine (84,44 points);
8. Plano, TX (84,12 points);
9. Portland, ME (84,03 points);
10. Brownsville, TX (83,85 points).

Ten most unsafe US cities:

• Jackson, Mississippi (60,75 points);
• Baton Rouge, LA (60,17 points);
• Chattanooga, Tennessee (58,82 points);
• Orlando, FL (57,24 points);
• Little Rock, Arkansas (57,16 points);
• Detroit, MI (56,30 points);
• Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (55,07 points);
• San Bernardino, CA (50,56 points);
• St. Louis, MO (48,85 points);
• Fort Lauderdale, FL (43,17 points).
